Kazakhstan’s Business Tourism Market Expands: Which Region Attracts Most Visitors? - The Astana Times

ASTANA – Kazakhstan’s resort areas received 510,800 visitors traveling for business and professional purposes in the first half of 2026, with the Almaty Mountain Cluster accounting for 77.3% of the total, according to an analysis by Ranking.kz. The figures highlight the growing role of business tourism in the country’s tourism industry, as companies increasingly combine professional events with leisure and wellness activities. Business tourism, also known as MICE tourism, encompasses meetings, incentive trips, conferences and exhibitions. In Kazakhstan, the sector is developing along two main directions: hosting international events in major cities and organizing business gatherings directly at resort destinations.

I've been to Italy 16 times. There's one city I always recommend to first-time visitors. - Business Insider

After visiting Italy 16 times, Bologna is the city that stands out to me the most. I've been to Italy 16 times, and if you give me an opening, I can work it into just about any conversation. But surprisingly, it wasn't Venice, Rome, or the Amalfi Coast that made me fall head over heels for the country. It was Bologna, the capital of northern Italy's Emilia-Romagna region. Bologna has it all — food, wine, art, history, architecture, and the kind of energy that makes you seriously consider missing your flight home. Sure, seeing the Colosseum is cool, but I prefer eating perfectly made tortellini with a glass of pignoletto in Bologna. Here's why I always recommend tourists add Bologna to their itinerary, even if they can only spare one glorious, carb-loaded night.

‘They shouldn’t be surprised’: Nova Scotians take stand against major data centre project - Global News

A group of Nova Scotians gathered on the waterfront in Halifax on Saturday with a message for Premier Tim Houston: allowing the construction of a large data centre will be detrimental to the environment and the community. “These companies don’t have a lot of information that they’re able to give us, we don’t know what this is gonna look like, we already have wells that are drying up in the summertime. I don’t think we can afford to do this,” Megan Boudreau, one of the protest organizers, told Global News. Energy and infrastructure company, EverWind, announced on Friday $10 billion in private investment in a data centre campus at its existing Point Tupper site. The site would be leased and run by AI development company Anthropic, the creator of the AI assistant Claude. “Canadians are using Claude in growing numbers, and we want our infrastructure to be closer to the people who rely on it,” said Jacob Glick, head of Canada Public Policy with Anthropic.
