But despite sharing the same course, the men’s and women’s pro races could not have been more different. Vincent Luis of France took the men’s title in his first-ever Ironman World Championship, clocking a time of 7:47:27 in a race that saw aggressive pacing and multiple lead changes from start to finish. Meanwhile, the women’s race was a steady drumbeat that devolved into noisy chaos in the final miles, with American Taylor Knibb coming out on top with a 8:36:29 finish.

Saturday’s races in Kailua-Kona will go down as one of the most memorable Ironman World Championships in its 48-year history. In the men’s race, Magnus Ditlev of Denmark looked like he was headed to victory, but with a little more than five miles to go in the grueling 140.2-mile triathlon he began to wobble and at 4.5 miles he was passed by Vincent Luis of France.

In the world of more RPG-infused Xbox games, Obsidian—the studio behind games like Fallout: New Vegas, Avowed, and The Outer Worlds—will now become part of Bethesda. There, the team will continue work on a new Grounded game and a “new Fallout project made in collaboration with Bethesda Game Studios,” Microsoft announced. Elsewhere in the company, Microsoft Casual Games (which still publishes former Windows pack-ins like Solitaire and Minesweeper) will now report to Candy Crush studio King. Playground Games (Fable, Forza Horizon) and Turn 10 (Forza Motorsport) are also being merged into a single team.
