He did not advance to the next round and never reached judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and Paula Abdul. Sebastian Stan once had other plans for making it to Hollywood. The Fjord star recently recalled his one-time aspiration to compete on American Idol. He and his friend camped out in Times Square waiting for their chance to snag a Golden Ticket in the early 2000s. "I wore these Gap leather pants and then we went up there," he said on Late Night With Seth Meyers on Tuesday. "And they, like, take you five at a time and they line you up like they're gonna assassinate you. And then each person steps forward and for 10 seconds, sings their song a cappella. And I sang the medley from Moulin Rouge. "Unfortunately, his Ewan McGregor impression did not impress the casting team on American Idol, so he didn't even make it to then-judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson. The Oscar nominee said he realized "very quickly" that he did not have the chops to move forward in the competition.
