Key PointsSamuel L. Jackson never imagined he would meet Stan Lee, as a childhood fan of Marvel comics. The actor, who has played Nick Fury across 12 MCU movies, said it was "beyond" a dream come true to come face to face with Lee. The iconic comic book visionary died in 2018 at the age of 95. While attending the premiere of his latest film, The Beast, Jackson looked back on getting the chance to meet Marvel comics icon Stan Lee before his 2018 death. "Things like that happen that you never expected," he told PEOPLE at the premiere event. "Those are things that you can't even imagine when you're a kid and you're reading the books and you see his name all over the place. "He continued, "Never occurred to me as a kid growing up in segregated Tennessee I would meet Stan Lee. So when it happens, it's not even a dream come true. It's something beyond that. Sebastian Stan recounts failed “American Idol ”audition: ‘They line you up like they’re gonna assassinate you’ - Yahoo

Key PointsSebastian Stan auditioned for American Idol in the early 2000s with a unique song choice. He slept in Times Square in order to get a chance at a Golden Ticket. He did not advance to the next round and never reached judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and Paula Abdul. Sebastian Stan once had other plans for making it to Hollywood. The Fjord star recently recalled his one-time aspiration to compete on American Idol. He and his friend camped out in Times Square waiting for their chance to snag a Golden Ticket in the early 2000s. "I wore these Gap leather pants and then we went up there," he said on Late Night With Seth Meyers on Tuesday. "And they, like, take you five at a time and they line you up like they're gonna assassinate you. And then each person steps forward and for 10 seconds, sings their song a cappella. And I sang the medley from Moulin Rouge. "Unfortunately, his Ewan McGregor impression did not impress the casting team on American Idol, so he didn't even make it to then-judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson. The Oscar nominee said he realized "very quickly" that he did not have the chops to move forward in the competition.

James Cameron congratulates Avengers: Endgame's box office success with bonkers image - A.V. Club

Marvel Studios’ release of Avengers: Endgame: Encore was a shrewd gambit for a few reasons: It put the studio’s most successful film back in conversation right after the juggernaut success of Spider-Man: Brand New Day; it tided die-hards over with new footage ahead of December’s Avengers: Doomsday; and, perhaps most importantly, it raked in an additional $138 million for the film, reinstating its position as the worldwide box office champion over James Cameron’s Avatar. Cameron, who certainly doesn’t spend his precious time fretting about such matters as lifetime financial grosses and being the best in the world at stuff, recently expressed his congratulations to Marvel for once again overtaking his 2009 sci-fi film. “You are one of the people,” the director wrote (per The Wrap) in a composite image from Avatar, with Iron Man at the center of a welcoming Na’vi tribe. “Congratulations to Marvel and the #1 Avengers: Endgame: Encore for bringing moviegoers to the cinemas! – Jim Cameron.”

TikTok “Permanently Bans” the ‘Musk’ Film Account, Raising Suppression Fears (Exclusive) - The Hollywood Reporter

TikTok has banned the entire Musk film account, citing political content that violates its policies. The move, which comes just as the Alex Gibney’s investigation into Elon Musk expands to more than 470 screens across North America, raises concerns about Big Tech suppression that the very film seeks to expose. Distributor Bleecker Street was informed Friday afternoon a “permanent suspension” was coming. The entire page disappeared from TikTok’s platform shortly after. The film company had been planning to spend ad money to boost certain posts; that will no longer happen. A spokesperson for the distributor confirmed that TikTok reps had informed them of the suspension and noted “disappointment” in the timing. After grossing $70,000 in four theaters in New York and Los Angeles in its first weekend of release, Musk is now playing in dozens of cities this weekend. The spokesperson said the company is in the process of appealing the move; even a reversal, however, could still prove costly if it doesn’t come during a weekend window when many people are likely to see the film.
