STORYTELLING : FROM LOCAL TO NATIONAL - THE PATHWAY - Rugby Canada
The Rugby Rematch Tour presented by Canadian Tire is approaching, and when Canada's Women's 15s team take the field, the Maple Leaf will be stitched across every jersey. But long before these players represented their country on the international stage, they represented their local clubs, universities, and communities; pieces of one nation, each with different stories, roads, and strategies that led them to where they are today. None of these players rose to the top as perfect athletes from day one. It took dedication, hard work, and years of development alongside local teammates and coaches to build that foundation and take it to the highest level of competition. So, when we look at the roster, full of talent and hard work, we also see the diversity of stories and upbringings; a plethora of Canadian definitions; a squad that showcases Canadians from British Columbia and Ontario to the Canadian Prairies, Manitoba, and Quebec. A team that starts on the West Coast and ends with players on the East Coast, more than 4,310 km apart. And while their journeys may differ, they share a common destination: representing Canada.
