Apple’s iPhone Duo Repair Prices in Canada Are Absolutely Brutal - iPhone in Canada

Apple has published Canadian repair prices for its new foldable iPhone Duo ahead of pre-orders opening Friday, October 16, at 5 a.m. PT, giving buyers a look at how much it could cost to fix a damaged device. The iPhone Duo starts at $2,999 CAD in Canada, but repairing its folding display could add a hefty expense for owners without AppleCare+.

iPhone Duo Repair Prices Will Fold Your Bank Account Without AppleCare - CNET

The iPhone Duo starts at expensive and goes up to exorbitant for its higher-capacity configurations, and if something happens and you need a repair, the costs could be substantial without AppleCare coverage. The base 256GB storage option is priced at $1,999, but if you want to max out Apple’s new foldable phone with 2TB of space, it’ll cost $3,199. That’s pricey by iPhone standards, compared to the iPhone 18 Pro that begins at $1,199, though in line with the retail prices of Android folding phones like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold.

The iPhone Duo's Screen Will Cost $999 to Repair if You Don't Have AppleCare - IGN

Updated: Oct 14, 2026 9:17pm UTCThe iPhone Duo, Apple's first foldable, is already an incredibly expensive phone, rolling in at $1,999 to start. While the buy-in price is high, it's also going to be extremely expensive if it breaks. Ahead of the iPhone Duo's release next week, the foldable's repair costs were found by 9to5Mac, and they're staggering if you don't have AppleCare+. They range from damage on the glass back of the phone costing you $199 to inner screen damage costing $999 to repair. Apple will apparently also charge up to $1,499 to fix "other damage," though it's not clear what exactly that means. All of these prices will be drastically lowered by having AppleCare+. Because the iPhone Duo is such an expensive and complicated device, anyone dropping the cash to buy one should seriously consider bundling AppleCare with it. I'd even go further and suggest picking up an iPhone Duo case on top of that. As scary as these high repair prices look, Apple basically skipped the era of fragile foldables.

WARNING: ConnectWise Supply-Chain Attack Exposes Microsoft 365 Tenants - LinkedIn

A supply-chain attack involving ConnectWise’s cloud services has exposed Microsoft 365 customers to unauthorized application access, with researchers reporting successful sign-ins across 173 partner and customer tenants. The incident centres on credentials associated with ConnectWise Cloud Backup, formerly SkyKick, and raises concerns about attackers exploiting permissions already entrusted to business software. ConnectWise has confirmed unauthorized access to application identities within its Cloud Backup environment. In an October 17 update on its service-status page, the company said it was shutting off application access, interrupting customer backups while investigation and remediation continued.

Charlie Vickers: ‘Tom Cruise cheated at freediving – that’s the headline’ - The Guardian

You once played Basil Fawlty in an amateur student production of Fawlty Towers at Queen’s College in Melbourne. How amateur was your Basil Fawlty moustache? It was terrible. It was real but it was definitely coloured in – I still have holes in my beard. I’d also shaved my head, so if you look at the early promo posters, you can clearly see I’m wearing a wig. Our theatre was closed so we had to perform in a circus tent in the middle of winter, on an oval in the university grounds, which was all very Fawlty Towers. I’ve always loved comedy. I didn’t really do anything serious until drama school. I always thought there might be a good spin-off with Sauron and Celebrimbor as an odd-couple situation. You play Sauron in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. Tolkien wrote that Sauron “represents as near an approach to the wholly evil will as is possible”. What do you consider wholly evil? A complete disregard for the feelings and wellbeing of other people, to put it simply. It’s the intention, I think. I have horrible flashbacks to playing Aussie rules when I was about 17. I thought people were being quite evil to me at the time.
