The World Architecture Festival recognizes the world's most extraordinary new architectural projects. The World Architecture Festival celebrates one-of-a-kind buildings from around the world each year. A panel of international architects and experts reviews entries on their way to crowning a "Building of the Year. " Each year, WAF releases a shortlist of entries that showcase some of the world's most notable buildings. Many projects were submitted, but only 416 made WAF's 2026 shortlist. There are four major categories: completed buildings, future projects, interiors, and landscape. Once the shortlist is decided, finalists present their projects to judges — this year, they'll do so in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in November. The completed building entrants are competing for the title of "Building of the Year. " The festival's 164 judges, representing 37 countries, will judge completed buildings grouped into categories such as civic and community, housing, and office.

A local college student’s auto detailing business has grown from helping family and neighbors to servicing the vehicles of professional athletes across New England. While still a junior in high school, Connor Heagney searched YouTube for car detailing videos and decided to give the business a try. “It started off with friends and family,” said Connor Heagney. “And then I’d go on Facebook and the town group posts and say, hey, I’m a 17-year-old starting a new business. If you’d like to support me, it would mean a lot to me.”Heagney launched Heagney Auto Detailing with just $800. What started as a side hustle required plenty of trial and error, but as his customer base grew, so did his confidence. That confidence eventually led him to reach out to former New England Patriots player Kendrick Bourne on TikTok while Bourne was promoting his clothing brand. “I was actually his first customer,” said Heagney. “Before I made the first order, I told him, hey, I’ll buy a product of yours if I can detail your car. We made it work.

Israeli settlers have attacked European diplomats, including a French mayor, near the Palestinian village of Taybeh in the occupied West Bank. The delegation was visiting Palestinian olive harvesters on Saturday when the Israeli attackers confronted the group. The attack comes a day after settlers assaulted a US journalist north of Ramallah. In Saturday’s incident, the settlers targeted Belgium’s consul general, French and Polish diplomats and Catholic representatives, Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot said. “A French mayor was assaulted and a Belgian vehicle damaged,” Prevot said, linking the attack to what he called Israel’s “illegal settlement policy” and pledging to push for further European Union sanctions. French mayor Bernard Baudoux, who was assaulted, told the AFP news agency that the violence suggests that “there is a tolerance on the part of the Israeli government” towards settler violence. Al Jazeera’s Nour Odeh, reporting from Ramallah, said the settlers surrounded the diplomats’ vehicles, pelted them with stones and smashed their windows.
