Loblaw Companies Limited has conducted an investigation into an incident that impacted some of its customers’ information in March. In a statement, the company says it worked closely with cybersecurity specialists to promptly contain the incident, and since then has conducted a detailed investigation and further strengthened technology safeguards. It also notified relevant law enforcement and regulatory authorities and have been working closely with them.

Among cancer patients, the high financial cost of cancer care is a prevalent problem. This financial burden is also associated with potentially harmful behavioral strategies that patients might use to cope with costs, such as delaying or forgoing treatment and skipping medications. Collectively, researchers refer to this impact as financial toxicity.
