Hannah Waddingham's Early Career Included A Role On Another Sports-Themed Show - TVLine

Hannah Waddingham is one of the most recognizable stars in the world right now, thanks largely to her breakout role as Rebecca Welton on the Apple TV hit "Ted Lasso. " Waddingham has brilliantly played Rebecca as her arc took her from A. F. C. Richmond owner trying to sabotage her own team, to a passionate defender and supporter of the club. While she'll likely always be connected to this soccer show (or football if you're anywhere that's not America), one of her earliest roles was on another well-received sports series. "Footballers' Wives" was a British drama about a soccer club, its players, and their wives. In a way, it was similar to "Ted Lasso," albeit without the Jason Sudeikis witticisms and with far more dramatic plot points. In Hannah Waddingham's lone appearance in the fourth season, she played Jools, a tennis player who was being represented by Hazel, the show's tough-talking agent. Season 4, Episode 9 marked Hazel's last appearance on the show, but she and Jools end up romantically involved with each other.

James Cameron congratulates Avengers: Endgame's box office success with bonkers image - A.V. Club

Marvel Studios’ release of Avengers: Endgame: Encore was a shrewd gambit for a few reasons: It put the studio’s most successful film back in conversation right after the juggernaut success of Spider-Man: Brand New Day; it tided die-hards over with new footage ahead of December’s Avengers: Doomsday; and, perhaps most importantly, it raked in an additional $138 million for the film, reinstating its position as the worldwide box office champion over James Cameron’s Avatar. Cameron, who certainly doesn’t spend his precious time fretting about such matters as lifetime financial grosses and being the best in the world at stuff, recently expressed his congratulations to Marvel for once again overtaking his 2009 sci-fi film. “You are one of the people,” the director wrote (per The Wrap) in a composite image from Avatar, with Iron Man at the center of a welcoming Na’vi tribe. “Congratulations to Marvel and the #1 Avengers: Endgame: Encore for bringing moviegoers to the cinemas! – Jim Cameron.”
