Cold Sweat, performed by Forced Entertainment, is drastic, comical and absurd. Yet, the Sheffield-based company known for its mission of playing with possibilities in theatre and performance somehow manages to use the oddity of it all to create a subtle exploration of AI in our lives.
The performance, which debuted in 2025, follows a similar format to their 2024 show Signal to Noise, where the artists lip-sync to AI voices speaking Tim Etchells’ wacky texts. The guise of a story lies in the setting: a room strewn with tinsel, discarded paper cups, boxes, overturned tables and blow-up furniture. The three cast members (Richard Lowdon, Claire Marshall and Terry O’Connor) each arrive wearing a different coloured ruffled wig, and we watch them pick up the tables and set out bottles of alcohol, preparing or cleaning up a party of sorts.

Review: Forced Entertainment – Cold Sweat at Southbank Centre - LouReviews
After seeing previous shows (Out of Order, 2019 and Signal to Noise, 2024) from Sheffield experimental theatre group Forced Entertainment, I was intrigued to see where Tim Etchells and co would go next. Three artists perform in Cold Sweat: Richard Lowden, Terry O’Connor, and Claire Marshall. The show, set on a stage strewn with foam cups, strange props, and tables, heavily draws on lip-syncing and AI voices.

James McAvoy Says ‘Split’ Is The Only Film That ‘Really Consistently Pays Me’ - Variety
James McAvoy has starred in films including “Speak No Evil,” “Atonement” and “X-Men: First Class,” but he recently revealed the “only” film he still consistently receives residuals from is M. Night Shyamalan’s 2016 horror “Split.” “You get the odd check for, you know, a couple 100 quid here or sometimes you get checks for, like, 25 cents and you’re like, ‘It literally costs more to post this than it did for me to cash it,’” McAvoy said during a recent episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast. “But the only one that really consistently pays me is ‘Split.’”

The six band members are clutching Union jack umbrellas as they pose for press photographs and mingle with British pop acts, including K-pop-trained boyband dearALICE. Netflix cameras are filming the evening for a six-part documentary. The group are in London hoping to build on their success in Turkey and reach an international audience. Their ambitions come after a turbulent year at home, during which the band were prosecuted for public indecency over their outfits and dance moves during a concert in Istanbul.'We'll manifest Coachella'A few weeks after their appearance on the boat, I meet the group again at Wembley Arena, where they are preparing for their first UK concert the following night. As the staging - complete with giant LED screens and the group's logo - is set up around them, the six members rehearse synchronised choreography alongside their back-up dancers.
