Erewhon opened as a pop-up cafe at LACMA’s new David Geffen Galleries in April, and has now announced it will remain as the museum’s permanent cafe. Erewhon, the trendy L. A. health food chain and retailer, announced Monday that it will become a permanent fixture at Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s David Geffen Galleries after operating there as a pop-up since April. The cafe will join the new building’s yet-to-be announced restaurant, which is already holding private events including a recent unveiling of an Ed Ruscha-designed poster for Alejandro González Iñárritu’s new film, “Digger.”To celebrate its new status, Erewhon announced a LACMA smoothie created to resemble Alexander Calder’s fountain sculpture, “Three Quintains (Hello Girls),” which sits directly next to the cafe on the museum’s ground floor. The drink is made from pineapple, mango, strawberry, mandarin and lion’s mane (of course). It will be joined by limited-edition merch, including a sweatshirt and a tote. LACMA’s new Peter Zumthor-designed building opened to the public in April and was greeted with equal parts praise and controversy.

Johnny Depp and Paul Bettany 'Hadn't Spoken' in Years By Libel Trial - Variety
Paul Bettany opened up in a recent interview with The Times about the public’s misconception of his relationship with Johnny Depp after text messages between the two actors were used in court during Depp’s libel lawsuit against The Sun. “I hadn’t spoken to Johnny in years when that happened and I haven’t spoken to him since. I was being painted as this close friend of a guy I hadn’t spoken to in years and, honestly, amid all the shit two celebrities threw at each other, that bit was the most odd,” Paul told the publication.

The “toxic” 1980s actor Ron Howard and Jason Bateman both couldn’t stand working with - Far Out Magazine
Credit: Far Out / YouTube Still / Colleen Sturtevant Sat 17 October 2026 19:45, UK Since he’s always wanted to have a career like Ron Howard, it’s almost fitting that Jason Bateman worked with an actor neither of them could stand, and at around the same time, too. As a child actor who eventually segued into more adult roles, admittedly after a decade in the wilderness, before diversifying into directing, it makes perfect sense that Bateman views Howard as the blueprint, since few have managed to navigate that transition as successfully as the Happy Days veteran. If anything, it must have felt like kismet when they became collaborators on Arrested Development, allowing the star to tell the narrator and executive producer to his face that he’d spent his professional life dreaming of emulating his path from an on-camera nipper to a behind-the-camera force. One of the key lessons he took from Howard, as obvious as it sounds, was not to be a dick. Bateman had his demons, and he battled them successfully, but it was watching the two-time Academy Award winner’s kind, compassionate demeanour that convinced him if he ever made it back to the big time, he’d try to be a nice guy.
