Nebraska soccer draws with bottom-ranked Maryland - The Daily Nebraskan

Ten teams make the Women’s Soccer Big Ten Tournament in November. Nebraska soccer is currently on the outside looking in, ranked 12th. The Huskers drew 0-0 with the Terrapins on Oct. 8 in College Park, marking their fourth scoreless draw this season. Nebraska didn’t improve its postseason resume, as Maryland registered its first conference draw after starting Big Ten play 0-6. After facing five straight ranked opponents, the program's hardest stretch in history, the Huskers' competition eased as they faced the Terps, the Big Ten’s last ranked team. To make the postseason, Nebraska needed to win favorable matches going forward. It struggled to get shots on goal against the Terrapins. Before this game, Nebraska had lost the shot-total battle in four straight matches. NU only had two shots in the first half. In its last win, Nebraska defeated No. 20 Michigan on Sunday, Sept. 27, as sophomore midfielder Karli Williams found senior defender Reese Borer for a header to win in the final minutes. This match started back-and-forth, but the Huskers looked for Borer on two high-quality chances.

SEC adopts standardized NIL contracts in latest step toward self-governance - CBS Sports

After the Big Ten implemented a uniform athlete contract model, the SEC has followed suit, with school presidents voting Monday to standardize NIL and revenue-share agreements SEC presidents voted Monday to adopt uniform NIL and revenue-share contracts across the league, effective immediately, sources told CBS Sports. The SEC joins the Big Ten as the second power conference to adopt standardized athlete contracts. Schools can share up to $21.6 million in revenue directly with athletes this academic year, the second year of the 10-year window under the House v. NCAA settlement. Players received nearly $1.8 billion in direct revenue-share payments during the 2025-26 school year, according to the College Sports Commission. The SEC's new NIL contract includes customizable sections, sources said, but CBS Sports was not given specifics. The Big Ten drafted a standardized memorandum of understanding for its schools before the House v. NCAA settlement took effect in July 2025. The template allowed schools to tweak and customize the deals.
