My friend and I live thousands of miles apart. We take cruises together every year to maintain our relationship. - Business Insider

My friend and I book cruises around the world together that help us stay in touch and make new memories. Maintaining friendships as an adult can be challenging, but my middle-school bestie and I found a solution that works for us — booking a cruise. Samantha and I have been friends for nearly two decades, but when she moved from the US to the UK after college, we went years without seeing each other. Our lives were becoming increasingly busy. Despite frequent phone calls to catch up, it took a lot of effort to stay connected. Without proper planning, the chances were slim we'd ever be in the same place at the same time. So, when a travel writing assignment took me on a cruise, Samantha joined me on board. The trip proved to be an ideal way to reconnect, explore new places, and make new memories together. We quickly realized that a cruise was the cheat code to maintaining our long-distance friendship in a fairly low-effort but exciting way, and we've been booking cruises together ever since. Right away, I appreciated the ease of logistics when planning our cruise

Class Action in Rough Halifax Plane Landing Certified in Supreme Court - VOCM

The Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador has certified a class action on behalf of passengers on board Air Canada Flight AC 2259 which landed hard at Halifax in December of 2025 after the plane’s landing gear collapsed. The flight had taken off from St. John’s International earlier that evening, and officials at YYT later confirmed that debris was found on one of its runways after the flight took off. They wouldn’t say at the time whether the discovery was related to the incident at Halifax. The class action names Air Canada, Provincial Aerospace Ltd, St. John’s International Airport Authority and the Halifax International Airport Authority, all of whom have consented to certification. Stephen Barnes of Bob Buckingham Law says they want to understand what went wrong that night and make sure that passengers have an opportunity to be fairly compensated for what they went through. The case will examine whether the defendants met their responsibilities for aircraft safety, runway safety and emergency response, and whether any failures caused injury or loss to passengers.
