【Kaneko Seeds FY2026 Earnings Call】Revenue rises but seed business cost pressures drag profits lower; net income misses plan by 11.7% - finance.biggo.com

Kaneko Seeds reported consolidated results for the fiscal year ended May 2026 with revenue of ¥67.733 billion (up 5.0% year-on-year) and operating profit of ¥1.749 billion (up 15.7%), achieving growth in both revenue and profit. The Agricultural Materials Business drove sales on increased application opportunities for foliage herbicides and front-loaded demand amid concerns over the Middle East situation, while the Facility Materials Business also grew on strong sales of heat-wave countermeasure materials. However, the Seed & Seedling Business faced rising seed production costs and larger-than-expected seed disposal losses, causing operating profit to fall short of the ¥1.9 billion plan. Net income came in at ¥1.325 billion, missing the medium-term management plan target of ¥1.5 billion by 11.7%. For the fiscal year ending May 2027, the company forecasts revenue of ¥70 billion and operating profit of ¥2 billion, with growth across all profit line items, though profit targets under the medium-term plan remain out of reach.
