After years of development and perhaps more hype than for any game, GTA 6 is set for release on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Predicting that it will be an enormous success commercially is perhaps one of the safest bets anyone could make. But just how big will the launch be? And what records could GTA 6 beat if it delivers? Lucia and Jason in GTA 6. The records The last GTA game, 2013's GTA 5, was a huge hit right out of the gate. It brought in $800 million in revenue over its first 24 hours and $1 billion in its first three days . Even a decade later, the game remains a sales juggernaut, eclipsing 230 million copies sold and counting . Rockstar's latest game, 2018's Red Dead Redemption II, launched with $725 million in revenue over its opening weekend . It's gone on to sell more than 87 million copies, making it one of the top five best-selling games ever . Outside of Rockstar, Bethesda's 2015 RPG Fallout 4 had a gigantic launch, shipping 12 million copies for launch day alone , generating sales in excess of $750 million. Rain98 is a blue-hued, pre-Y2K, Serial Experiments Lain inspired visual novel about time travelling to the past to end the world

Picture this. You're me, and you boot up the demo for Rain98, an incredibly blue-looking, rainy visual novel set in Tokyo, 1998, about a woman who refers to herself as the Angolmois, a world-ending reference to the predictions of good ole Nostradamus. At one point you have to light this woman's cigarette in a lightly stylish sequence. You get to a bit where you're asked to put your name in, and you put it in because like its predecessors, this is surely a self-insert kind of situation. Only you get a Steam achievement for getting a game over for putting your name in. Rude! But curious, so you, and of course I mean I, pressed on. In Rain98, you play as a nameless Generic Man who is deeply troubled, if not outright suicidal (of which this game has strong themes of) by the state of the world as it is in our present day. It's a fair stance to take! I would not exactly say things are good right now. But they weren't great in 1998 Japan, the year that Generic Man is somehow transported back to, finding this young woman, Reina Amehara, the Angolmois, in what he thinks is his apartment.

Battlefield 6 Devs Respond After Players Take Aim at 'Secuty' Typo and Cosmetic With 5 Pistols

Updated: Oct 17, 2026 9:28pm UTCThe Battlefield 6 team has responded after players took aim at a few controversial cosmetics added in Season 5. Battlefield Studios took to its official Discord server to offer background information on two skins that caused a stir with the launch of Battlefield 6 Season 5 this past week (via MP1st). The full text confirmed at least one of the issues has a fix in the works, while the other will seemingly remain the same. The cosmetics – one with what appeared to be a typo in the word "security" and another featuring infantry sporting a whopping five pistol holsters – were officially added October 13 and almost immediately drew ire from fans. It's that pesky misspelling, which took the shape of the non-existent word "security" on the armband of a McNeil skin, that the developers say will be fixed when Battlefield 6 Season 5 launches in November. Secuty 😭 It's AI #Battlefield6 https://t.co/8DVphghCSU— Battlefield Intel (@BattlefieldInte) October 13, 2026 "You called it out clearly, and we hear your concerns," the message, acknowledging the memes and conversations surrounding the new skins, said.

The Mortuary Assistant Film Director Jeremiah Kipp Passes Away

Underground horror director Jeremiah Kipp has passed away, according to his partner Lindsay Katt. Confirmed through The Long Island International Film Expo, Kipp released his largest movie just earlier in the year, an adaptation of the hit indie horror game The Mortuary Assistant. “Jeremiah was a gentle soul who was always generous with advice and sharing his knowledge of cinema,” writes the Film Expo, “he leaves behind many friends and an important legacy.” Based on the 2022 video game, The Mortuary Assistant follows Rebecca (Kingdom Heart’s Willa Holland), a down on her luck woman hoping her new job will pave the road to recovery. Working grim but seemingly benign shifts at the morgue, she suddenly finds herself subject to strange visions. That’s when her employer, Raymond (Boardwalk Empire’s Paul Sparks), delivers the bad news. It seems a demonic spirit hitched a ride on one of the cadavers, and Rebecca will need to follow specific rituals to rid herself of the entity. 15 years ago Jeremiah Kipp made my dreams come true. I had a very dark and personal story about Suicide and he believed it needed to to be told. I got to write and produce "Crestfallen" as a film along side him.

Pokémon Go Minior Shower schedule

A crunchy outer shell with a colorful glowing inner core The meteor Pokémon, Minior, is making its Pokémon Go debut with its many colorful cores, but it'll only be available during real-life meteor showers. You'll want to keep your eyes peeled for these little critters during these rare moments throughout the year, and keep an extra watchful eye in the evening, as these will appear more frequently. To assist with this, we've put together a Minior schedule, so you know exactly when to look out for these. The next Minior Shower in Pokémon Go is from Oct. 19-24. You can see the full Minior Shower schedule, along with how to find Minior below.

Black & White 3 doesn't sound like it's ever going to happen, but good ole overpromising Peter Molyneux may have let slip about a remaster of the original

"But it would be inappropriate for me to talk about it" Peter Molyneux feels like a man who can never die. He's just sort of always been there, and seems like he always will be, making some kind of game where you can hypothetically do what you want, never quite living up to expectations. But hey, he's Peter Molyneux, what else would you expect? The complicated icon is still ticking away at his latest, Masters of Albion, but in a recent interview, he spoke of one of his old classics, Black & White, and the idea of a third entry in the series (and the fact that there might be something newish on the way).

5 Years Later, One Game’s Blood Sacrifice Mechanic Still Haunts Me

Rebecca is a scientist-turned-storyteller and professional ghostwriter who enjoys forgetting common English words and making up her own in their stead. She's probably stuck between two basically-the-same dialogue options in a Larian game as you read this (there's so much at stake, obviously!!!). Rebecca currently lives with two gigantic puppies, a toddler consistently LARPing as Lara Croft, and her Halo-playing husband in Detroit, MI. You can find her past work at Zelda Universe and Verily Magazine. How much do you need your teeth, really?
