At Holcim, our people are at the heart of our NextGen Growth 2030 strategy, and this commitment is reflected in our commitment to Health, Safety & Environment (HSE). Our top priority is to protect the wellbeing of our employees, which includes using the latest AI tools. Our Boots on Ground (BoG) workforce engagement platform and digital HSE mobile platform now incorporates a powerful AI tool called Predict Au. This is now at all of our colleagues’ fingertips through the BoG mobile app, which also features "Flamey" – an AI-powered HSE coach that makes learning engaging and interactive for our people across all our sites.
Reducing our lost time injury frequency rate Since 2016, Boots on Ground (BoG) has helped reduce our Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate by 63%, reflecting our conscious shift to instill a culture of genuine commitment and proactive ownership – engaging 65 000 employees and contractors worldwide. As the platform has grown to 16 500 active users and 450 000 coaching sessions, the richness of the data it generates has improved. The question we faced was how to turn this high volume of data into meaningful, timely decisions at multiple sites, simultaneously?
